What do you do when you're in love with your best friend?

So I have this friend who I've liked a lot for a while now... about 6 months, plus for a few months last year. When I first started liking him again this year, I found out soon after from a mutual friend of our's that he liked me back... what I didn't know was that he was still in love with one of his best friends, who is also his exgirlfriend. He stopped liking me after awhile and I put up with him and his friend/exgirlfriend flirting. They finally got back together for a couple months, then broke up again. I was still crazy about him. For a while he started getting pretty stupid around me, being a bad friend. Then we started getting closer, and at times it seemed like he was starting to like me again. I finally talked to him about all of these feelings and everything from the last few months, and it's clear and out there how much I like him, and how I think I'm slowly falling more deeply in love with him. We're closer than ever but he's so in love with his exgirlfriend. ADVICE PLEASEWhat do you do when you're in love with your best friend?
