I told my best friend I LOVE the heck out of her?

I finally told her I was in love with her.

I was so nervous about how to tell her I had to write my thoughts down first and read them to her (she later asked me to sign and date the notes so she could keep it). When I told her, she was all smiles, wasn't turned off at all, hugged me and said she loved me too, but I don't think she meant it the way I did. She said she has a lot to think about. Since then we've been having our normal BF relationship, nothing has changed.

But I'm wondering how long I may have to wait for her to come around to my way of thinking, if she ever does. Not to mention there's this semi-stalker, emotionally crippled man she's friends with who is also in love with her, and before I told her my feelings she was contemplating a relationship with him sometime in the future. He's not right for her at all and she's just being nice, but can I expect her to forget him so quickly and think only of me? Ladies, how long would you take to fall for your male BF?I told my best friend I LOVE the heck out of her?
Who knows... You're right, though, she may never come around... But I think you should definitely give her some time to think. She's probably shocked.

If the girl likes the other guy, she may still decide she wants a relationship with him. You may think she's just being nice, but if she's considering a relationship, she must like him. She'd be an idiot to date him if she doesn't like him.

Just like she'd be silly to date you if she didn't like you.

Me... it would take me SECONDS to fall for my male best friend... but that's because I already like him. He, on the other hand, has no interest in me... in that way. I can't tell he does, anyway.I told my best friend I LOVE the heck out of her?
In all honesty I think you might have explained it wrong to her. I think she might have taken it as you love her as you would love a very close friend. My ex best friend Rebecca I was so close with, that if she didnt have a very serious cheating problem I would of dated, I used to tell her I loved her all the time, but I meant it in a close friend sort of way and she knew that. This is what I would do if I were you. Ask her if she could meet you up for coffee on a Friday or Saturday. Then when your out having your coffee, tell her that you would really love it if she would give you the opportunity to take her out on a date to a nice dinner and out for some ice cream afterwards, then follow it up with a walk in a nice park or some place that is very appealing to the eye. Just make sure when you ask her, you use the word ';Date'; because that word will pretty much 100% tell her what you are after. I really hope things work out for you on this. I think you might want to act quick on this, because of the other guy friend in the picture who she has some interest in. Wish you the best of luck on this mate, and I hope everything works out in your favor.
Took me a few months after I met him, took me even longer to accept that I was in love with him, but that's cause I am 150% sure that he doesn't like me like that. . . Don't expect her to rush into a relationship with you. Give her time, it will make your relationship more sturdy when you do get one.

BEST WISHES!
That is difficult to know. It seems strange that she didn't move the relationship forward even a little after you told her you loved her. Maybe she is confused herself. Try pushing it just a little bit and see how she responds. If she acts uncomfortable, then you know you are in friend mode.
why do friends fall in love??
