I married my best friend but it didn't start out that way. We met and it was just a total physical ';thing'; but the longer we dated the better friends we became and by the time we were engaged he was my best friend. Now that we've been married a few years and been through some rough spots, it's that tight friendship bond deep down that is the root of our relationship and holds us together when I can't stand to even look at him. I know that whatever happens that we will make it together because of our bonds as friends. I think that's what gets couples to their 50th wedding anniversaries - not the lust - but the companionship, knowing each other from the inside out - not from the outside in.Who has married their best friend?
Everyone in our office accused of us dating, which we didn't do until one of us changed careers. We had a ton in common, and spent a lot of time together, but things were platonic. I think we saw where things were going, but who needs office romances?
Married 11 years and still on speaking terms. ;-)
I did not marry my best friend because he died in July 2002. I still love and miss him everyday. I am now married to someone else and I do love him but not in the same way. Some people marry their best friends.
I did and we've lived happily ever after
I've been married to my best friend for over 11 years. It's not been easy by any means. It started out platonic... but when he started going with someone else.... it hit me in the face that I had lost the one who I'd been looking for. It's not been all fun and games... but we're more deeply in love with each other than we've ever been!!! God has really smiled down on us!!
That is pretty much what happened with me. We started out as just friends, and then fell in love, and eventually got married. It's definitely worked out very well.
LOL a question for liars. When you both say ';I do'; your loving relationship or your best friend relationship has been destroyed. Some people realize it in weeks others lie to themselves for years. Here are the facts of life and please stop lying:
1. There is no Santa
2. There might be a Bigfoot
3. All men cheat, almost all women cheat
4. Marriage ruins relationships (moving in is the same)
5. Everyone lies (you even lie to yourself)
6. Life is not fair
Good luck and Happy Holidays. Email me if you want to
hear the truth. You can ask me anything. I don't lie unlike
the other answers you will get.
