What do you do when you've fallen in love with your best friend...who is the same sex as you?

the person i am talking about is not myself...i'm looking for advice to tell a friend.





we'll call them friend 1 and friend 2.


friend 1 and friend 2 are best friends.


friend 1 is gay. friend 2 has had gay feelings for a while, but has always ignored them for family sake.


previously, friend 1 and friend 2 have had no gay feelings towards one another...until now.


friend 2 has fallen in love with friend 1.


friend 1 doesn't want to ruin the friendship.


friend 2 respects what friend 1 says, but can't fall out of love.


it's awkward between the two of them.


both still want to remain best friends. but the awkwardness is overtaking the friendship.


how do you make things go back to normal if friend 2 can't NOT love friend 1, but also can't live without being friends if nothing more.What do you do when you've fallen in love with your best friend...who is the same sex as you?
Well this has happened to me many times.


I usually hook up with them.


And then after that I no longer like them.What do you do when you've fallen in love with your best friend...who is the same sex as you?
I'm guessing friend 2 has never really dated anyone of the same sex before and is just naturally looking to friend one as a convenient and comfortable for a same sex partner. friend two needs to go on dates with others of the same sex and see what it's like and that the convenience and comfort that they see in having a good friend as partner may not be the best way to go.
Friend 1 has gotta spill their guts to friend 2 if it really is that awkward.
