Everything happens for a reason, right? So maybe the reason that you two became best friends was because eventually fate wanted you two to end up together. Think of it positively. Also, if he loves you back, then you two were made to be! Plus, if things don't work out, you two can still be friends. It may be uncomfortable at first, but it will eventually go back to normal. i think its very common because you get so close and just have such a tight bond that you start to like each other as ';more'; than friends.
